Bearded Dragon Care Basics
Heat, UVB, diet, and enclosure setup for healthy beardies — the essentials every new keeper should know.
Bearded dragons need a warm basking spot (roughly 95–105°F depending on age) and a cooler side so they can thermoregulate.
Provide a high-quality UVB lamp on a day/night cycle — UVB is essential for calcium metabolism and bone health.
Juveniles eat more insects; adults shift toward more greens. Dust feeders with calcium as recommended by your herp vet.
Use a spacious enclosure with secure lid, hide spots, and a diggable substrate appropriate for your husbandry style.
Always quarantine new animals and wash hands after handling. When in doubt, ask an exotic-friendly vet.
