Betta Tank Setup (Done Right)
Skip the tiny vase myths — filter, heat, and space for a thriving betta.
A heated, filtered tank of at least 5 gallons is a realistic minimum for most bettas — more space is better.
Cycle the tank before adding fish. Sudden ammonia spikes are a top killer of new bettas.
Soft silk plants and smooth décor prevent fin tears. Avoid sharp plastic plants.
Feed high-quality pellets or frozen foods in small amounts; remove leftovers to keep water clean.
Weekly partial water changes keep parameters stable. Test kits take the guesswork out of “it looks fine.”
